Dear convert-me.com forum visitors,

Our forum has been available for many years. In September 2014 we decided to switch it to read-only mode. Month after month we saw less posts with questions and answers from real people and more spam posts. We were spending more and more resources cleaning the spam until there were less them 1 legitimate message per 100 spam posts. Then we decided it's time to stop.

All the posts in the forum will be available and searchable. We understand there are a lot of useful information and we aren't going to remove anything. As for the new questions, you can always ask them on convert-me.com FaceBook page

Thank you for being with us and sorry for any inconveniences this could caused.

TOG ratings in duvets

Postby Fenton » Fri Aug 10, 2007 5:08 pm

Would anybody possibly know the conversion table of the standard 'warmth' measurements in TOGs into the European system of x grammes weight of the duvet. I believe, for example, a UK/USA/Australian rated 4.5 TOG summer weight duvet is 100 grm. I would be extremely grateful for any help.

Here in the UK, the warmth of a down duvet or a microfibre duvet, is measured in togs as you say. However, silk duvets don't have tog ratings but are sold based on the weight of the duvet. This silk duvet is converted as follows: a 200g being the equivalent of a 4 tog duvet and a 400g silk duvet is the equivalent of a 8 tog duvet.
