A gallon is a measure of volume.
A ton is a measure of mass.
It depends on what material you are considering.
1 gallon of water weighs a lot less than a gallon of mercury.

However, if we are talking about water, a gallon of water weighs 8.33 pounds/gallon.
So 1 gallon = 8.33 pounds / 2000 pounds per ton = 0.004165 tons.
Therefore 1000 gallons = 4.165 tons
Use at your own risk as I am not a mathematician,
and as always, check my math!
Hope this helps.
