minute conversion X rate

Postby jaharrij » Tue Sep 23, 2008 10:57 pm

helping my 5th grader - I don't want to be incorrect.
converting minutes into seconds to get increments times (x) the rate

example 5,000 minutes x 60 seconds = 300,000 seconds
then divide 6 second increments into 300,000 seconds
then multiple .01 (cents for each 6 seconds) = $500

Is this correct?
