Can someone tell me please how to convert square metres to feet and inches ? I need to know room measurements from European houses, i.e. what would a room measuring, say, 12' x 24' be in square metres. This is just an example for me to 'start' on.
Thank you.

If the room is rectangular, area is just the product of length and width.

Your example starts with feet, the area of a 12' x 24' room is 288 sq feet.

You can either convert both dimensions from feet to meters, then multiply for area, or you can convert sq feet directly to sq meters.

Appraoach 1
1' = 0.3048 m exactly, so the room is about 3.66 m x 7.32 m, or 26.76 m^2.

Approach 2
Since 1' = 0.3048 m, 1 sq ft = 0.0929 m^ and the 288 sq ft room is 26.76 m^2
