The answer to your problem I believe is 8.14 pounds/US gallon. 1 pound = 454 grams. So .769g/cm^3 x 1/454 grams/pound= 0.0022lbs/cm^3 . * A cm^3 is = to 1 mL.* So 0.0022lbs/1ml x 1000mL/1L= 2.2lbs/L. *3.79L=1US gallon * so 2.2lbs/1L x 3.79L/US gallon= 8.14 pounds per US Gallon .. I hope this helps you out.
