I'm trying to figure out how to convert degrees to foot lbs of torque. I'm trying to torque something down and my wrench on ly goes down to 25ft. lbs. and the sped. calls for 20ft. lbs and an additional 60degress. I would appreciate any help possible thanks. :?

Torque the bolt to 20ftlbs and THEN turn the wrench EXACTLY 60 MORE degrees. That is a torque to yield seting and has nothing to do with ftlbs.

They sell little plastic degree wheels that go over your ratchet/breaker bar that are about 2" in diameter so you can watch as you pull and get it exactly on 60 degrees. Auto parts stores carry them because many of the new vehicles require you to change head bolts because they ARE torque to yield bolts and that is the ONLY way to torque them correctly.

Many of the newer engines have torque to yield rod and main bolts too.

Some heads would have torque specs like:
1. torque all bolts to 20lbs in sequence
2. turn all bolts in sequence an additional 45 degrees
3. turn all bolts in sequence an additional 35 degrees

NOT the same as
1. 20 lbs
2. 35 lbs
3. 50 lbs

go purchase the little degree adapter and (new bolts if it calls for them), do it correctly.
