KILOWATT COST

Postby INDIANA BOB » Sun Mar 16, 2008 6:21 pm

I use 380 watts on a concentrator.
I convert 380 watts to 0.380 kilowatts
I multiply .380 x 24 hours per day x 365 days per year =
3,328.80 kilowatt hours per year
The cost of power is (average) $0.10784 per day (average)
3,328.80 kilowatt hours per year x 0.10784 per day =
$358.98 per year

Is this calculation right?

Does it run 24/7? If so, this is correct.

If not you need to look at its schedule. Also does it have any kind of thermostat that switches on and off (controlling a temperature)? It may not REALLY be ON all the time.

You've lost me on the next part, If the average cost is $0.108 (Rounded) per day, there are 365 days in a year. It would cost $39.40 per year. But where did that come from?

Do you mean $0.10784 per kilowatt-hour? If so, this is correct if it really draws 380 watts on a 24/7 basis.
