weight of liquid

What is the weight of one ml of liquid water? I suspect it may be the basis of one gram . . . but that is either a guess or some distantly repressed memory. Anyone know?

You are right. One liter of water weights exactly 1 kilogram, i.e. 1 ml weights one gram.

I vaguely remembered that 1l of water =1kg but what about other liquids? Does density affect mass? ALso, is mass the same as weight?
