Dear convert-me.com forum visitors,

Our forum has been available for many years. In September 2014 we decided to switch it to read-only mode. Month after month we saw less posts with questions and answers from real people and more spam posts. We were spending more and more resources cleaning the spam until there were less them 1 legitimate message per 100 spam posts. Then we decided it's time to stop.

All the posts in the forum will be available and searchable. We understand there are a lot of useful information and we aren't going to remove anything. As for the new questions, you can always ask them on convert-me.com FaceBook page

Thank you for being with us and sorry for any inconveniences this could caused.

Remember that "per" in a mathmatical sense means devided by, so parts per million really means parts divided by one million...

Code: Select all
1,000,000 ppm = 1,000,000 / 1,000,000 = 1        or 100%
  100,000 ppm =   100,000 / 1,000,000 = 0.1      or 10%
   10,000 ppm =    10,000 / 1,000,000 = 0.01     or 1%
    1,000 ppm =     1,000 / 1,000,000 = 0.001    or 0.1%
      100 ppm =       100 / 1,000,000 = 0.0001   or 0.01%
       10 ppm =        10 / 1,000,000 = 0.00001  or 0.001%
        1 ppm =         1 / 1,000,000 = 0.000001 or 0.0001%

If you have one liter of solution that has 1 ppm of mysterium in it, you basically divide the liter of solution into one million parts. Each part then would be 1 millionth of a liter. or 1e-6 liters. Of these million parts, 999,999 of them are the solution, and one of them is mysterium. That would mean you have 1 microliter of mysterium. you want milliliters. so you have 0.001 milliliters of mysterium.
