Help on fertilizer recipe!

Postby say2themtn » Tue Jul 18, 2006 6:29 am

I want to make 12 quarts of organic fertilizer, but do not know how! Here is the recipe:

4 parts cottonseed meal
1/4 part agricultural lime
1/4 part gypsum
1/2 part dolomite
1 part bone meal
1 part kelp

Please help me convert to cups, pints, and quarts! I cannot figure this out!

If you add all the parts, you get 7 parts total. So if a part is 1 cup, you get 7 cups. If it is 1 qt, you get 7 qts, and so on. To avoid messy fractions, I'd set 1 part = 2 quarts, and make 14 quarts total.

Then you get
8 qt cottonseed meal
1 pint agricultural lime
1 pintt gypsum
1 qt dolomite
2 qt bone meal
2 qt kelp

14 qt total mix.
