3 cubic meteres into kilograms

Postby sarveshey » Tue Dec 27, 2005 6:07 pm

Hi

I need to convert 3 cubic meters into kilograms. I know volume cannot be converted into weight so easily. But in terms of shipping by sea the measurements are defined in volume and shippings by air are as per weight.
If anyone has any encountered a similar situation, please contact me

Kilograms to Cubic Meters

Postby Jens » Sat Dec 31, 2005 5:12 am

It depends on what the density of the material you are shipping is.

one liter equals 1 cubic decimemter

so

one cubic meter would be 1000 liters.

If what you are shipping is water, then this would weigh 1000 kg or a metric ton.

If it was styrofoam, the weight would be substantially less

Hope this helps
