Month after month we saw less posts with questions and answers from real people and more spam posts. We were spending more and more resources cleaning the spam until there were less them 1 legitimate message per 100 spam posts. Then we decided it's time to stop.

All the posts in the forum will be available and searchable. We understand there are a lot of useful information and we aren't going to remove anything. As for the new questions, you can always ask them on convert-me.com FaceBook page

Weight to mass

Is there a way to take something you have a weight on and figure out the mass of that object? Looking to calculate the density of some objects. I have the volume and the weight, but I dont knwo how to get the mass without a triple balance scale. Is there a way? Thanks

Which unit is your weight? On Earth, a weight of 1 pound is approximately equal to a mass of 453.59237 grams, and a weight of 1 newton is approximately equal to a mass of 0.10197162 grams.

If you have a weight in newtons, the method used to derive mass (on Earth) is to divide by 9.80665 m/s².
