If the roof of your house could catch every raindrop without any being wasted, how much rainwater could be collected if there was a 10mm downpour?

can someone please help me with this thanks.....

You need to know the flat projected area of your roof (the horizontal area from which it receives rain)

10 mm of rain is also 0.01 m. This falling on a 1 m² area is 0.01 m³ (or 10 L). Multiply by area of roof for total rain.

(NOTE: This would be MUCH more complicated using Imperial or US Customary units: how many gallons would be collected if 1/2 inch of rain falls on a roof 1 chain long by 2 poles wide? )
