What is the formula to convert round posts to cubic meters. I have a post that has a diameter of 3.5" and a length of 8 feet. How many cu meters is in this post?

1) If you need an answer on cubic meters, it is much better to measure the dimensions in meters, so your posts are 0.089 m (89 mm) dia by 2.44 m long.

2) The volume of a cylinder is V = (pi/4)*d*d*h so (3.14159/4)*0.089*0.089*2.44 = 0.0152 m^3 per post.

3) If you are shipping a bunch of posts, you have to compute the outer dimensions of the boundles, you get charged for the air space between posts. I would allow an extra 11% at least for packing density, to be safe, say 0.017 m^3 per post.
