If I need 50 sq. ft of tile and each tile is 2" x 6", how many tiles do I need?

There are 144 square inches in a square foot. If each tile measures 2" by 6", each tile equals 0.0833 square foot (2*6/144).

If you need 50 square feet of tile, 50/0.0833 = 600 tiles. No gap for grout is included in these figures.
