How full do you want the can?
4 L of petrol (gasoline to me) is also 4000 ml.
1/20th of that is is 200 mL of oil (0.2 L).
Thus, you would have 4.2 L of mixture.

If you wanted to go as close to full as possible, there are 21 "parts" of total mixture, 1 part oil, 238 mL, and 20 parts petrol, 4.76 L.

If you haven't done this before, compute the oil for a predetermined amount of fuel, and put the oil in the fuel can first. Then dispense the proper amount of fuel. Adding the fuel last will largely take care of the mixing.
