1 British Thermal Unit (1BTU) is defined as amount of energy or heat required to raise temperature of one pound (1lb) of water by one degree Fahrenheit (1°F).

I guess the answer to your question depends on how many degrees of Fahrenheit (or other temperature units) you need to raise the temperature of your 1lb of water.
