how many gallons in my cylindrical tank?

Postby Bone » Wed Jun 28, 2006 11:59 am

:? Math is not my strong point!! I read awhile back about Tim(?) gettin help on this matter. Was wondering if I could get same help. My tank is 12' long & 6' high (3'radius?) Iwas wondering how many gallons that holds at 1/4, 1/2 3/4 full ect (or by 1 ft. increments ) I took a shot at figuring it out when full. My answer was 2536 Gal. Am I even close here guys??? HELP!!!!!!!!!

Bone:

I get 2,538 gallons so yes, you're close! ((PI*r^2)*12*7.4805)

For a good discussion on the subject and possibly the topic you're referring to, go to: http://www.convert-me.com/en/bb/viewtopic.php?t=467
