I've never heard of an HVAC unit of "Ductwork pounds" Can you give some background?

Ductwork pounds to linear feet conversion

Pounds of ductwork is a pricing unit. Can't convert to linear feet of duct, since ducts are all different cross-section sizes and different metal thickness gages.
