what time would it be in est(usa) if it is 4:00GMT?

EST would be five hours later, 09:00. But EDT, which we are on now, would only be four hours, 08:00. Note that GMT does not shift for summer, but the British Isles do. They are currently on British Summer Time, not GMT.
