On average, an adult human with a mass of 70-kg has 5000-ml (5-L) of blood. (Source: Taggart, Starr and Cecie Starr. Biology: The Unity and Diversity of Life. California: Wadsworth, 1989: 398.) Some sources say it is closer to 4700-ml (4.7-L).
