I am studing the rates of oxygen consumption of fish and I need to convert


10mgO2 kg-1 h-1 to 10μmol O2 kg-1 min-1

This requires knowing:
* 60 minutes = 1 hour
* 32 g O2 = 1 mol O2

10 mg = 10,000 ug (using u for micro, rather than the proper Greek letter). If a 1 kg fish consumes 10000 ug/h, it consumes 1/60 of that per minute or 166.666... ug/min.

32 ug O2 = 1 umol O2, so
166.66.../32 = 5.2 ìmol O2 kg-1 min-1
