conversion of micrograms per liter

Postby student » Thu Jan 08, 2009 10:57 pm

Hello,

I am asking again:

1. How do I convert micrograms per liter (ug/L) to milligrams per cubic meter (mg/cm3)

2. micrograms per liter (ug/L) to milligrams per square meter (mg/cm2)

Many thanks for help in advance.

1) Multiply by 1. There are 1000 µg per mg, and 1000 L per m³. The two factors of 1000 cancel each other.

2) You can't. They are not compatible units. You would have to spread the liter over some number of square meters and determine the thickness, so it still added up to a liter.
