You can compute the number of cubic yards from the dimensions of your project. The trick is each of the dimensions has to be restated to yards. 1 yard = 3 feet = 36 inches.

If the shape is rectangular, volume = length x width x thickness, but if you measure in feet or inches, convert each measurement to yards.

If shape is not rectangular, compute the area, then multiple by thickness.

If you need tons, you need to know the density of blacktop in tons/cubic yard. Sorry, but I don't know.

It will be regional and mix-design specific but for a (3/4) aggregate about 2 tons/yd3
