Hi
I don't understand what units are referred to by the values in "computer connection speed" section, could someone please tell me in a single word.

Those are typical transfer speed values for various types of data connections. For example WiFi 802.11g is a typical kind of WiFi you can usually find around. It provides connection speed up to 54 Mbit/s. Another example is a relatively new USB 3.0 computer interface that provides data transfer rate up to 5 Gbit/s. And so on.
