Setting up a pool

Postby Angie » Mon Apr 21, 2008 8:39 am

Hello, I have been trying to figure this out with no luck. I am setting up a pool which is 15 ft round. I need to put 2 inches of sand in the bottom of it. How can I figure out or if someone already knows the answer, I am trying to figure how much sand I am going to need. Thanks, Angie

Is 15 foot the diameter? I'm assuming so.
The area is (pi/4)*15 ft x 15 ft = 177 ft²
2 inches is 1/6 ft, so volume of sand is about 30 ft³. This is about 3000 lb.

Unfortunately, that is a small amount for truck delivery and a large amount to but in bags.
