What you're doing here is converting between weight and volume. The bridge between these two units is density - How much does a certain volume of something weigh. This is further complicated by the fact that some things, salt being one of them, have air gaps between the particles. For that reason, the 'real-life' density of something may be less than the density of a solid block of it. This 'real life' measurement is commonly called bulk density.

Salt has a bulk density of 1.154 grams per cubic centimeter. That means that two grams of it would be a volume of 1.7 cubic centimeters.

Next, we need to convert 1.7 ccs to teaspoons. There are 4.929 ccs per teaspoon, so 1.7 cc would be 0.345 teaspoons or about a third of a teaspoon.
