We were spending more and more resources cleaning the spam until there were less them 1 legitimate message per 100 spam posts. Then we decided it's time to stop.

All the posts in the forum will be available and searchable. We understand there are a lot of useful information and we aren't going to remove anything. As for the new questions, you can always ask them on convert-me.com FaceBook page

The easiest way to do this is to use a tool called unit analysis. Here we go...

You have your initial units of kg/mm. What you are going to need to do is convert each segment to the unit you want in the end. So, you'll need to know how to convert kg to lbs. (There are 2.205 lbs per kg) and mm to inches (there are 2.54 mm per inch.) So, lay out your problem like this:

Code: Select all
    kg         lb        mm
5.1 -- x 2.205 -- x 2.54 --
    mm         kg        in

Now, simplify the statement. Notice that Kg will cancel, and mm will cancel, leaving you with lbs over inches. Multiply the units out, 5.1 x 2.205 x 2.54 = 28.56357

Code: Select all
    kg         lb        mm            lb
5.1 -- x 2.205 -- x 2.54 -- = 28.56357 --
    mm         kg        in            in

First: You cannot convert Bar to kg.

Remember that pressure is defined as force per area. One Bar is a unit of pressure equal to one million (10^6) dynes per square centimeter.

1 dyne is 1.0198 e-6 kg of force , so you can convert Bar to a value is kg/cm² by multiplying by 1.02, or to kg/m² by multiplying by 10200.

Your 3 Bar value would be 3.059 kg/cm².
