Real moles are measured in grams. I've never heard of a short-ton mole, but I assume you have to know how much bigger a short ton is than a gram.
2000 lbs/short ton x 453.592 37 g/lb = 907 184.74 g/short ton
So 1 short-ton mole of anything would be 907 184.74 "real" moles. That number isn't very memorable, I might consider tonne-moles, which are just megamoles.
